To book - must call the owner Martin Button Tel: 07903 481000 Capel Battery is a unique motorhome site set at a historic World War II gun battery site with views of the English Channel. Providing guests with a basic base or stopover, the site is home to a limited amount of electric hardstanding motorhome pitches. Next to the Battle of Britain Memorial, the site is aimed at history buffs who will find the place fascinating. Folkestone, Dover and the Eurotunnel are also within a 15 minute drive. Small, basic motorhome site set by an unrestored historic World War II gun battery site. By the North Downs Way with areas onsite enjoying views of the English Channel. Within a five minute walk of a pub and the Battle of Britain Memorial, ten minutes to Dover. About Capel Battery: The site is home to 13 acres of land to explore, including the gun emplacements, Nissan huts and views across the English Channel. Next door to the Battle of Britain Memorial and the North Downs Way walking route, the site acts as a well located base for days out. The five electric hardstanding pitches are set along a concrete strip with grassy areas to the side. Each comes with a 16 amp electric hook up and water standpipe, allowing up to four guests in motorhomes and RVs only. Dogs are very welcome, with up to five permitted per pitch. Open fires and BBQs are prohibited. Please note, there are no toilets and showers onsite. The onsite remains are in the process of being restored, so there may be works going on. This does also mean when exploring, kids should always be with an adult due to the nature of the site. Capel Battery is open all year round. Capel Battery is being restored so you see the Nissan Hut, Gun battery foundations. On certain weekends we open up the gun store and underground plotting room. Central position between Folkestone (only 5 minutes away) Euro tunnel and the Port of Dover. This site is unmanned. And this is a World War II historic gun battery site. You’re welcome to wander round the gun foundations. Be aware there is a huge pit where the original gun was placed, so be careful when walking round. Keep small children by your side.
